When I was little – about middle school aged – the coolest thing happened on Easter: The electricity had been out for a few days around town (for what I can’t remember) and everyone on Saturday was worried that we’d not meet for church when it came to Sunday morning. Nevertheless, the pastor agreed to meet anyway. It’s about time we Baptists perfected our a capella, right? ;-) I don’t actually remember the sound of …

Our Breakfast Table
My favorite part of our house. The bright happy colors, the painting that sings “You are My Sunshine” that Dad gave us at our wedding, and the promise of a good (and blessed!) meal make me smile :)

New Year’s Letter
Bob Schellhammer photography To our dearest friends and family: We pray your Christmas was as pleasurable as ours! For us, the whole month was a refreshing rest from all the planning and busyness before and since our union in June. Having the free time to clean the house for guests, joyfully host friends and family, sleep in, stay up late, and spend time with each other and our families was a blessing like …
Our first Christmas
As I’m making decorations for our first tree (while listening to Little Women), I’m reminiscing last year’s Christmas. Cobalt and I visited my parents for the occasion, then headed to TX to see my family’s relatives (the first time I’ve done so since I lived there between ’90-’96). Paper garlands and snowflakes, inspired by a friend of mine This year we’re celebrating Jesus’ birth with Cobalt’s family here in Chattanooga, including his grandmother. (We may …
One year ago…
One year ago, Cobalt and I hung out at the VA in Johnson City (across the railroad tracks)….reading, basking in the sun on my picnic blanket…and taking pictures of the beautiful day… We snapped a couple of ourselves, too :) I’m so grateful for this man!
Our Garden: A Reflection of God’s Invisible Attributes
Our garden that Cobalt started in April from seed (before I moved to Chattanooga) is slowly but surely coming along! Recently, we’ve transplanted the tomato and pepper plants from their pots to the ground located on the side of our house. Cherry tomato plant Roma Tomato plant (with a flower!) Sweet Peppers The lack of rain and subsequent 100 degree days in June slowed their growth down quite drastically; and several plants died though I …
Thankful and Blessed
Thank you to everyone who has supported us with prayers, gifts and by witnessing our marital union. We feel really blessed to know so many people who have helped shape who we are. Both, Hope and I, are still getting settled in and making our house homely. We’ve uploaded the pictures from the Photo Booth if you want to take a look. We’ll upload some more pictures soon and tell you what is going on …
